This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Central Server and Probes), and MSP Edition (Central Server and Probes).
This section explains how you can create a new Business Service. A Business Service is particularly useful for grouping the resources of a location say the resources available in sales office or for grouping the resources used by a business application.
To create a new Monitor Group, follow the steps given below;
From the Dashboard page, click Create Business Service.
An Add Business Service wizard (shown in below screenshot) appears, which guides you through the business service creation process, and helps you to organize your critical business components thar you have added.
Provide Name for the Business Service;
This is a mandatory field.
You are allowed to enter only alphanumeric characters.
All special characters, except, hyphen (-), underscore (_), single quote ('), and double quotes ("), are allowed.
The total number of characters cannot exceed 28.
Notes:
Admin, IT Admin, Sys Admin - user is a super user, and will be able to see and have access to all Business Services.
Operatoruser, Sys Operator - if associated as an owner, will have Read Only Access to that particular Business Service alone.
- Guest - if associated, will be able to view this Business Service, in Manager Console. Using this option, restricted Business Services alone can be shown in the Manager Console. By default, if the Guest is not explicitly associated to a Business Service, the Guest will be able to view all the Business Services in the Manager Console.
Select the Location, for associating the business service to a particular geographical location. You can also provide location, if your location is not listed in the drop-down menu. Click on 'Add Location' and Google map opens up. Here, you can select Custom locations.
Click Finish to create the Business Service and to add Resources, later. For related information and screenshots, click here.
Before we proceed, kindly ensure the following;
You have Added the Customer/Site and Associated Probe(s) with the site.
You have added your Network devices (For related information, refer Add Devices & Discover Devices) and Applications & Servers.
You have configured your Routers for monitoring the bandwidth utilization.
Steps to Create the Business Service:
To create a new Business Service, follow the steps given below;
Login to the IT360 Console.
Choose the Customer, for whom you wish to create the Business Service, from the 'Customers' drop down list.
Choose a Site associated with the customer, from the 'Sites' drop down list. The page redirects to the Dashboard. You can also choose the site later, while entering the Business Service details.
Note: If you have not previously associated the Probe(s) with the Site that you wish to choose, then an error message will be displayed.
Enter the following Business Service details in the Business Service Wizard that appears;

Description - The description related to the Business Service.
Location - Select the location for associating the Business Service to a particular geographical location from the drop down list. You can also add location of your own choice by clicking on 'Add Location' and Google map will open up. Here you can select custom locations.
