This section is common to all editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).
Before you start adding a new SAP server monitor, it requires SAP Java Connector(JCo) to be present in IT360 classpath. Refer Prerequisite for SAP
You need a SAP user profile, while creating a SAP monitor, with the following authorization objects; S_RFC, S_XMI_LOG and S_XMI_PROD, which are minimum prerequisites for adding the SAP monitor.
To add SAP Monitor in Windows Vista:
Login to IT360 console with the Username and Password of an Admin user.
Click the Admin tab in the header pane.
Click Discover/Add under Discovery.
Choose the option Add from the Discover / Add type dropdown and select the Application radio button.
In the Add New Monitor wizard displayed, click SAP Server under ERP (see this screenshot). In the Add Monitor wizard displayed, do the following:
Enter a Display Name for the server.
Enter the Host Name / IP Address of the host, in which the monitor is running.
Enter the SubNetMask (The subnet mask determines the maximum number of hosts on a subnetwork). Click the Advanced link and enable the checkbox "Do not resolve DNS name", in case you have multiple system IP addresses configured with single DNS name. Click the Advanced link and enable the checkbox "Do not resolve DNS name", in case you have multiple system IP addresses configured with single DNS name.
Enter the SAP 'Logon client'.
Enter the SAP 'System number'.
Enter the SAP Logon 'Language', such as 'EN' for English.
Enter the Polling Interval time in minutes. (The time interval to monitor the different parameters configured for a Monitor)
Enter the 'User Name' & 'Password' for SAP.
Now, Associate Monitor Instance to Business Service, i.e choose the grouping, to which you want to associate the SAP Server Monitor, from the combo box. If no Business Service is found, Create one by clicking the Create New Business Service link.
In the case of Professional Edition, it is Business Service [optional]
In the case of Enterprise Edition Probe, it is Business Service [optional]
In the case of MSP Edition Probe, it is Customer and Site [mandatory]
Note: Kindly refer SAP Parameters to know more about the attributes monitored.
Monitors - SAP Server Monitor | Create Other New Monitors
The steps listed below help you to add the SAP application, which runs on 64 bit OS;
Note: The below mentioned solution will work, only if IT360 runs on 32bit OS and SAP runs on 64bit OS.
Download 'SAP JavaConnector' from the 'SAP_Windows.zip' file. (Please contact, email@example.com, to get the 'SAP_Windows.zip' file).
Unzip the file.
In machine, where IT360 is running, copy the file 'librfc32.dll' to the'C:\WINDOWS\system32' directory. In addition, copy the files 'sapjcorfc.dll' and 'sapjco.jar' to the '/applications/working/lib' directory.
Verify the 'msvcr71.dll' and 'msvcp71.dll' files, existing in the Windows system directory. Please make sure that you add the dll files to the Windows system directory, only if they do not previously exist.
Now, Add Monitor(s).
