J2EE Web Transaction Monitor

Introduction:

This section is common to all the editions of IT360 - Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition (Probes only) and MSP Edition (Probes only).

By using J2EE Web Transaction Monitor, you would be able to do the following;

PreRequisite: J2EE Web Transaction Monitor requires an agent, to be plugged in the Application server (like JBoss), to be monitored. Know more about the agent.

Steps to add a J2EE Web Transaction Monitor:

Follow the steps given below to create a J2EE Web Transaction monitor;

  1. Go to 'Admin -> Servers & Applications' and click on New Monitor link.

  2. From the Add Monitor of type drop down menu, select J2EE Web Transaction.

  3. Enter the Host Name or the IP Address of the Host, whose web transactions you want to monitor.

  4. Enter the SubNetMask of the network.

  5. Provide the Port number, in which the J2EE web transaction agent is running.

  6. Enter the Polling interval time, in minutes. Default is 5 minutes.

  7. Choose the Business Service Group from the combo box, with which you want to associate the monitor;

  8. Click Add Monitor(s). This discovers the Monitor from the network and starts monitoring them.

Note : The J2EE Web Transaction Monitor supports JDK1.5 only.
