AUSTIN, TX, April 26, 2010 - Interop Booth 635 - ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost effective network, systems, applications and security management software solutions - and a VMware Technology Alliance Partner program member - today announced it is adding support for monitoring VMware ESX/ESXi servers to ManageEngine Applications Manager, the company's widely deployed server and application performance monitoring software.
ManageEngine is providing a preview of the new VMware support at this year/s Interop show in Las Vegas. The functionality is expected to be generally available within 30 days.
The capabilities offered by ManageEngine Applications Manager give IT administrators valuable insight into the health and performance of virtual servers as well as the virtual hosts configured in those servers. With the aid of comprehensive performance metrics as well as in-depth reports, IT administrators can ensure their virtual systems are performing at their peak; and can quickly identify any virtual machines consuming excess server resources and take corrective action.
ManageEngine Applications Manager also offers extensive capabilities for monitoring the physical systems in an IT environment, providing administrators with a single tool to monitor both their physical and virtual systems. The end-user experience monitoring capabilities of Applications Manager help administrators to keep track of the user experience, both prior and post virtualization.
"Our organization depends on the availability and performance of multiple applications so understanding how those applications are functioning is of utmost importance," said Andy Allord, web programmer, Carol College. "We selected ManageEngine Applications Manager because it gave us the insight into and control over those vital software suites without expensive up-front costs and lengthy implementations required by other management vendors. Its performance matches its promise."
"While server virtualization provides great flexibility to businesses it comes with its own share of complexities that at times can be overwhelming to IT Operations," said Gibu Mathew, product manager, applications performance management solutions at ManageEngine. "That is why, at ManageEngine we go beyond plain virtualization monitoring. ManageEngine Applications Manager provides deep dive application component monitoring, which helps manage both physical and virtual components of a heterogeneous IT environment."
ManageEngine Applications Manager is available as a downloadable file for both Windows and Linux platforms. A 30-day fully functional trial edition is freely available from the website. Pricing starts at $795 for the Professional Edition.
The VMWare monitor is expected to be generally available within 30 days at a price of $995/year.
