Create Group in Active Directory Using CSV

ADManager Plus provides the ability to create group by just importing from a CSV file. To perform this operation follow the steps below:

Select the AD Mgmt tab.
Click the Create Bulk Groups link under CSV import. This opens the Create Group page.
Select the domain in which the new groups need to be added.
Import the groups list from a CSV file and click on Next.
Select the Group Type & Scope from the dialog and click OK.
Select the container. You can also create a new OU using the Create New OU link.
Click on Create Groups button to initiate creation of Groups in bulk.
The created groups and their status can be verified.

Note: First create a csv with all the updated information and then start the process. Instead of selecting type and scope from the dialog box, you can also provide it in a CSV file under the header groupType with the following values for different group types and scopes:

Global Distribution 2

Domain Local Security -2147483644

Domain Local Distribution 4

Universal Security -2147483640

Universal Distribution 8
