Software-deployment Failure

Problem

The installation of a software application has failed with the error message '%1 is not a valid Win32 application'.

Cause

The software application installation fails due to any of the following reasons.

  • Proper installation commands and silent switches that are needed while installing various application formats and extensions
    • msiexec.exe file is required to install .msi and .msp files in form of .exe package
    • wusa.exe file required to install .msu file names
    • cscript.exe file is required to install .vbs files
  • The executable file has not been completely downloaded from the vendors website.
  • The existing executable file file is corrupted

Resolution

Kindly refer the link for more information about working with different application formats and extensions, see Which application formats can I install using Endpoint Central and how do I install them? . Download the executable file again from the vendors website and make sure that the file has been completely downloaded.
