Configuring TimeServer in Multiple Windows Machines

A time server is a computer that reads actual time from a clock (could be atomic clocks, GPS clocks, or radio clocks) and distributes this information to other computers. The time server may be a local network time server or an internet time server. NTP is one of the widely used protocols for synchronizing the clocks of computers and hence time servers using NTP are sometimes referenced as NTP servers.

Microsoft Windows Operating systems version 2000 onwards includes a service called as Windows Time Service which has the ability to sync the computer clock to an NTP server.

MSP Center Plus helps you to configure multiple desktops to reference time from a single time server. Choose the following configuration, input the time server details and apply the configuration to desired desktops.

  • Remote management-> Configuration-> Computer Configuration-> General Settings
