Prerequisites for monitoring Pillar Axiom 600 RAID

  • Ensure SNMP agent is running.
  • Register OpStor server IP address as trap destination 

Prerequisites for monitoring Pillar Axiom 600 SNMP Traps

  • Connect to Pillar Axiom Web Interface with an administrator account.
  • Under 'Configure' tab, expand Global Settings-->SNMP.
  • Click on Actions-->Create SNMP Host.
  • Under Name field, enter OpStor.
  • Under 'Host IP' field, enter the IP Address of the Server in which OpStor is installed.
  • Enter the Community String.
  • Check the 'Receive Traps' check box.
  • Now specify the Trap port Number as 162 and click OK. 

Steps to add Pillar Axiom 600 RAID in OpStor

  • Navigate to Admin Tab --> Manage Storage Devices link in OpStor client
  • Provide IP Address of Pillar Axiom RAID
  • Choose Device Type as 'RAID'
  • Choose Vendor as 'Pillar'
  • Provide SNMP Port and Community string (default is 161 and public)
  • If needed, change the Timeout value (default is 5 seconds)
  • Click on Add Device

Note : If the Ping facility is disabled for the device, then please uncheck 'Ping the given IP' field.
Note : In case of non discovery of the device, please follow the troubleshooting tips displayed in the webclient and try re-adding the device.
