Starting the Agent

Just after the Security Manager Plus agent is successfully installed, the default behavior is that it automatically starts up as a service in Windows machines.

In case you have not chosen this option during installation, you can start the agent using the options below :

On Windows

Starting Agent Service

You can run the agent as a service from either from Start ť Programs ť ManageEngine Security Manager Plus Agent 5 ť Control Agent ť Start or from the Service Applet (Service Name : Security Manager Plus Agent). A taskbar tray icon indicates that the SMP Agent service is running.

Stopping Agent Service

There are 2 ways to stop the SMP Agent service. Any one of them can be adopted :

Click Start ť Programs ť ManageEngine Security Manager Plus Agent 5 ť Control Agent ť Stop
Visit the Service Applet (Settings ť Control Panel ť Administrative Tools ť Services) and stop the service : Security Manager Plus Agent)
