The Problem
Glory Kingdom experienced significant challenges managing the company's Active Directory (AD) and performing AD tasks manually, which led to the organization spending a substantial amount of time and effort on these tasks. This approach not only increased the risk of errors but also consumed valuable resources, making AD management challenging and time-consuming.
Furthermore, the AD environment at Glory Kingdom was in dire need of cleanup. The presence of stale accounts added to the inefficiencies and posed IT security risks. These dormant accounts not only consumed valuable system resources, but also created vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors. Without proper management and cleanup, the AD environment was susceptible to security breaches and operational challenges.
The Solution
Implementing ADManager Plus enabled the IT team to overcome its challenges with Active Directory management and make remarkable improvements. Jim, an IT administrator for Glory Kingdom, shared the following results:
I. Bulk user creation
ADManager Plus' bulk user provisioning feature simplified and streamlined the process of creating multiple user accounts in Active Directory for Glory Kingdom. With this functionality, Jim and his team could easily create and configure multiple user accounts simultaneously, saving both time and effort. This feature was especially useful in scenarios such as employee onboarding, where many user accounts need to be created in a short period. By automating the user provisioning process, ADManager Plus enhances productivity, reduces errors, and ensures consistent user account creation throughout the organization.
II. AD Cleanup
ADManager Plus' AD Cleanup feature plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean and secure AD environment. It provided Glory Kingdom with a range of powerful cleanup functions that helped identify and remove obsolete, inactive, or dormant user accounts, computer accounts, and groups. This proactive approach minimized the risk of security breaches, reduced clutter in AD, and improved overall system performance. With ADManager Plus, Jim and his team were able to identify and clean up stale group memberships, ensuring that access rights were accurate and up to date, further enhancing the security posture of the AD infrastructure.
III. Reports
ADManager Plus comes with over 200 predefined reports that enabled Jim and his team to effortlessly generate extensive and impactful AD reports. These reports provide valuable insights into AD, including details like recently created or modified users, disabled users, NTFS permissions of users, and more.
