Microsoft Exchange Online does not provide a way to perform point-in-time restorations. It also has a limited retention period for deleted items (30 days). This necessitates the need for a backup and restoration solution to insure your Exchange environment against accidental deletions or other issues like malwares that might result in missing mailbox items.
Both ManageEngine RecoveryManager Plus and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 allow you to back up your Exchange (on-premises and online) environment and restore mailbox data when needed.
