To backup and restore AD data from a domain, RecoveryManager Plus requires the credentials of an administrator from the same domain. To perform password recoveries, the admin should also be a member of the Enterprise administrators group in that domain.

Backup and Restoration of GPOs in Windows Server 2003 necessitates installing Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) in the configured domain Controller. Please note that this requirement is essential only for Backing up GPOs and not other AD data.
