# Customizing a Chart Analytics Plus provides a wide range of customization options, allowing you to personalize the chart's appearance, which is visually appealing and informative. You can adjust colors, fonts, and layouts to match your branding or preferences. [Click here](https://www.manageengine.com/analytics-plus/cloud-help/zia/insights.html#customize) to learn more. ## General This tab displays all the general chart settings, along with the settings specific to the selected chart type. ### Basic This section allows you to customize elementary details about the report, such as the Title, Description, representation of missing values, and other chart-specific options. - Specify what data should be displayed for null or empty values in the Display Unknown Value. - Select the checkbox **Show missing values** to plot data points (dates/categories) without corresponding values. It helps select a specific section of the chart for detailed analysis. - The **Brush effect** allows users to select, highlight, and explore specific portions of a chart by brushing over the data. ### Overview Effect The Overview Effect adds a preview to the bottom of the chart. You can adjust the slider to focus on a particular region. - Enable the **Overview** toggle button and choose the chart effect. - Enable **Auto Hide Overview** to display the overview panel only on hover. - **Show Latest N data points** displays only the specified number of data points when using a date dimension on the x-axis. ### Scroll Bar Effect The scroll bar provides smooth horizontal navigation through the data. - Adjust the slider to choose the Category Thickness or specify a value. - Enable the **Brush Effect** to explore specific data points or ranges. ![Scroll Effect](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/analytics-plus/cloud-help/scroll.png) ## Timeframe Filter The Timeframe Filter lets you choose the time period for data visualization. - **Auto**: Automatically selects an appropriate timeframe. - **Custom**: Allows you to define a specific date range. ![Timeframe Filter](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/analytics-plus/cloud-help/timeframefilter.gif) ## Axis settings Analytics Plus automatically sets axis values such as labels, range, and intervals. To customize: 1. Columns in the X-axis and Y-axis are listed with a **Format** option. 2. Click **Format** (options vary by data type). 3. Specify the preferred format. Formatting can also be applied from the report editor: 1. Click the **Settings** icon on hover and choose **Format**. 2. Make changes and click **Ok**. ### Report Level Fiscal Year Settings The Fiscal Year setting allows you to define the starting month for the fiscal year (applies only to the current report and appears when using a date column). Open the chart and click the **Settings** icon. 2. Expand the **Threshold** tab. 3. Open the chart → **Settings**. 2. Expand **Threshold**. 3. Define drill-down paths. 4. Enable **Allow Dynamic Drill Down** to allow users to drill by any column. Additional options: - Enable scale type changes (Linear, Log, Square Root). - Enable window functions (Running Total, % of Total, Difference From, etc.). ### Drill Through Drill through allows navigation to related reports from a data point. #### Configuring a Drill Through Action 1. Select related views (from the same or related tables). 4. Click **Apply**. ### Drill Through Action Permission Drill-through options depend on user permissions. Administrators have access by default. For other roles, enable Drill Down and Drill Through permissions while sharing views. Open the chart → **Settings**. 2. Expand **Drill**. 3.
