# Spotlight | Analytics Plus Cloud

## Spotlight

Spotlight is an intelligent recommendation engine in Analytics Plus Cloud that helps you uncover actionable insights from your IT data. Instead of manually analysing dashboards and reports to identify operational issues, Spotlight continuously analyses your data, detects patterns, identifies inefficiencies, and recommends actions that can help improve your IT operations.

Spotlight currently supports data imported from ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus Cloud and Site24x7. Support for additional applications will be introduced in future releases.

### Modes of Operation

Spotlight can generate recommendations in one of the following modes.

#### Non-LLM Mode

This is the default recommendation mode.

In this mode, Spotlight uses built-in logic-based analysis engine to examine your data, identify trends, detect anomalies, and generate actionable recommendations. No external AI provider is required.

#### LLM Mode

When a supported GenAI provider is configured, Spotlight automatically switches to LLM-Based Mode. Zoho LLM and OpenAI are the two supported providers.

In this mode, Spotlight combines its logic-based analysis with Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate more comprehensive and contextual recommendations. In addition to actionable insights, each recommendation includes a detailed explanation and Root Cause Analysis to help you better understand the underlying issue and take corrective action.

## Accessing Spotlight

1. Open a Workspace.

2. Choose **Spotlight** from the side panel. The Spotlight option will show only on workspaces where supported datasets are present.
3. The Spotlight page displays recommendations generated for your workspace based on the available data.

### Using AI-generated recommendations

To enable AI-generated recommendations, you must configure a supported GenAI provider.

- Navigate to **Organization Settings** → **GenAI Configuration**.
- Under **Reporting and Insight Skills**, enable the Spotlight skill.

- Configure one of the supported GenAI providers:
  - OpenAI
  - Zoho LLM
- Save the configuration.
- Once the GenAI provider is configured, Spotlight automatically generates recommendations in LLM-Based Mode. Newly generated recommendations include richer contextual insights along with a Root Cause Analysis.

### Searching and filtering recommendations

As the number of recommendations grows, you can quickly locate relevant insights using the available search and filtering options.

#### Search recommendations

Use the Search bar at the top of the Spotlight page to search for recommendations using keywords.

#### Filter recommendations

Click the Filter icon to narrow down the displayed recommendations based on one or more available filter criteria. After selecting the required filters, click Apply to view only the matching recommendations.

Click **Apply** to display the filtered recommendations.

### Refreshing recommendations

Spotlight automatically updates recommendations whenever Analytics Plus synchronizes new data from the connected data source. If you want to generate recommendations immediately without waiting for the next scheduled synchronization, click Regenerate at the top of the Spotlight page.

Analytics Plus reprocesses the available data and generates a fresh set of recommendations.

**Note:** The time required to regenerate recommendations depends on the volume of data available in the workspace and may take several minutes for larger datasets.
