# Generating Scheduled Microsoft Windows DNS and DHCP Reports ## Reports in DDI Central The DNS and DHCP reports in DDI Central help network administrators manage and analyze their network efficiently time-to-time with up-to-date information. These reports can be directly downloaded from the DDI Central UI or can be automatically sent to the admins from DDI Central on a scheduled basis. **Note:** Scheduling and reporting in DDI Central are only available for the admin(s). ### Scheduling DHCP reports To setup, schedule, and access the scheduled DHCP reports: - Select **DHCP-> Schedule** - Navigate to the **Reports** tab adjacent to the **Configurations** tab. - Click on the **Actions** dropdown button and select **Add Schedule** to schedule reports. ![Scheduling DHCP Reports](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/images/reports_1.png) - The **Add Schedule Report** dialog box appears. Enter the following details: ![Add Schedule Report Dialog - DHCP](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/dhcp-reports-new-1.png) - **PERIOD:** Select the frequency at which you want to schedule the reports. You can make multi-selection here. For example, when you select both Daily and Weekly, you will receive DHCP reports as PDF via automated emails from DDI Central detailing DHCP configuration updates on a daily basis as well as reports summarizing the DHCP updates for the whole week. **Note:** Ensure that the SMTP host is configured on DDI Central to enable the delivery of automated emails to all admins at scheduled time intervals. - **TYPE:** Defines the scope of the report. If the report should include only the capacity report of all the subnets, choose **All Subnet Report.** This generates a report listing the subnet capacity of all the subnets in the DHCPD file of your DHCP server around the chosen timeline. Alternatively, if you want to generate DHCP reports only for selected subnets, select **Subnet Leases Report.** This scheduled report delivers essential stats of each selected subnet like a visual snapshot of each subnet's capacity, along with a visual breakdown of the number of IP addresses in the subnet's inventory according to their availability status. - **SUBNET:** Select the subnet for which you want the report to be generated from the list of the subnets defined in your network. You can select the relevant subnet to tailor the report to specific segments of your network. ![Select Subnet - DHCP](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/dhcp-reports-new-2.png) - **FILE FORMAT:** Select the type of file format in which you want the reports to be downloaded. You can either download the reports in an individual file format by selecting the **PDF** or **CSV** option, or download the reports in both formats at the same time by selecting the **Both (PDF & CSV)** option. ![Select File Format - DHCP](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/dhcp-reports-new-3.png) - **BACKUP REPORTS:** Enabling Backup, if required, drives DDI Central to store the latest versions of the DHCP reports in the app for admin reference. - **NUMBER OF VERSIONS:** Specify the number of versions of the automatically generated DHCP reports to be saved or backed up for future reference, analysis, or archival purposes. For instance, if you select a reporting frequency of both daily and weekly, and you specify the number of backup reports as 5, DDI Central will maintain the five most recent daily and weekly reports as backups available under the cluster. These reports can then be directly downloaded from the DDI Central user interface, in addition to admins receiving timely reports through automated emails. - To generate DHCP reports for IPv6 subnets, slide through the toggle at the top right corner to choose DHCPv6 and repeat the same steps. - Click **Save** to finalize the configurations. ![Save DHCP Schedule](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/images/report_3.png) Once you've setup the scheduled reports, you can view and download the backed up reports. In addition, you can also reschedule the setup for each scheduled report and delete the setup for a scheduled report if required. **Note:** You can also make selections in bulk and collectively reschedule the reports or delete them altogether using the **Actions** drop-down button and selecting **Change Schedule** or the **Delete** option, respectively. ## DNS reports To setup, schedule, and access the scheduled DHCP reports: - Select **DNS-> Schedule** - Navigate to the **Reports** tab adjacent to the **Configurations** tab. - Click on the **Actions** dropdown button and select **Add Schedule** to schedule reports. ![Scheduling DNS Reports](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/images/report_4.png) - The **Add Schedule Report** dialog box appears. You can make multiple selections here. For example, if you choose Daily, Weekly, and Monthly, you will receive DNS reports in PDF format via automated emails from DDI Central. If the report should include the DNS updates of all domains, choose **All Domains.** This generates a scheduled report listing the collective DNS analytics like total query volume, hourly query rate, and hourly query load of all the domains in your network. It also specifically lists the total query volume and hourly query rate of each domain in your network, including the ones hosted and blocked by your DNS servers, around the chosen timeline. Alternatively, if you want to generate detailed DNS reports for selected domains, choose **Select Domains.** This option generates a scheduled report that delivers essential query statistics, including a visual breakdown of the query volume by type of records (e.g., A, AAAA) and a visual representation of the volume of queries made by each IP address for a specific domain. - **DOMAINS:** Select the domain(s) for which you want the report to be generated from the list of the domains hosted or blocked in your network. These reports can then be accessed and directly downloaded from the DDI Central user interface by the admin. - Click **Save** to finalize the configurations. - Once you've setup the scheduled reports, DDI Central enables you to view and download the backed up reports for each scheduled report configured. You can view and access the backed-up reports for your hosted as well as blocked domains separately, directly from the DDI Central UI. You can also reschedule the setup for each report and delete the setup for the scheduled report if required. **Note:** You can also make selections in bulk and collectively reschedule the reports or delete them altogether using the **Actions** drop-down button and selecting **Change Schedule** or the **Delete** option, respectively. ![DNS Reports Overview 1](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/images/report_last_b1.png) ![DNS Reports Overview 2](https://cdn.manageengine.com/sites/meweb/images/dns-dhcp-ipam/images/report_last.png)
