Server unreachable: "Unable to resolve FQDN due to DNS issue, or "Unable to connect to the MDM Server"

Problem

These errors typically occur when attempting to enroll a device via QR code scan:

    1. Server Unreachable: This error indicates that the device agent cannot connect to the MDM server.
    2. Unable to resolve FQDN due to DNS issue: This error occurs when the device cannot resolve the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in the DNS server.
    3. Unable to connect to the MDM Server: This error suggests a general connectivity issue preventing the device from connecting to the MDM server.

Cause

These errors may arise due to network configurations such as private DNS settings, VPNs, proxies, or firewall restrictions.

Resolutions

    1. The server's IP address and Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) must be correctly mapped to ensure a proper connection between the MDM app and the server. To verify, try accessing the server's URL in the device's default browser.
    2. Check and adjust private DNS settings if applicable: Go to Settings -> Network -> Private DNS.
    3. Ensure that the necessary ports are allowed in the firewall settings.
    4. Contact the network team to investigate and resolve any connectivity issues if the server remains unreachable.
