Communication settings

Server configuration

Setting	Description
Notify if connection down for	Triggers an alert when a server agent loses connectivity for the specified duration
Resend alerts every	How often to resend connectivity alerts until the connection is restored

Workstation configuration

Same settings as server, but applies to workstation agents separately.

Additional alert controls

• Suspend alerts for disabled servers
• Suspend alerts for deleted servers
• Notify if the first profile fetch after agent installation is unsuccessful

Service settings

Setting	Description
Restart agent service automatically	Ensures the agent service restarts automatically if it stops unexpectedly

Installation and upgrade settings

Setting	Description
Auto-refresh configuration page	Enables live UI updates during install/uninstall operations
Auto-retry attempts	Number of retry attempts for failed installation/uninstallation (default: 20)
Enable Agent Self-Upgrade	Allows agents to automatically update when a new version is available on the server

Security settings

Agent-to-server communication can be secured via token-based authentication (available from build 7060+).

Setting	Description
Allow only authenticated agents	Restricts communication to agents supporting token validation
Allow unauthenticated data transfer	Permits data transfer without token validation (may impact performance if disabled)
Org Access Key	The key used by agents for secure registration and token-based validation

Important: When enabling "Allow only authenticated agents", ensure all agents are version 7060 or above.

Event data settings

Setting	Description
Events per request	Number of events sent in a single batch (controls network utilization)
Maximum EventData directory size	Local cache limit for unsent events (default: 2GB, path: C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\ADAudit Plus Agent\EventData)

Important: When the EventData directory reaches its size limit, event collection stops. The agent continues running and attempts to forward cached data. Collection resumes automatically once space is freed.

Auto-configuration

Setting	Description
Enable auto-configuration post installation	Automatically configures newly installed agents
Default event fetch mode	Defines event collection behavior for manually installed agents on DCs, member servers, or workstations
