# Utility Widgets

Utility widgets don't pull monitoring data at all. They add general-purpose content to a dashboard, such as quick links, notes for your team, or an external web page, alongside your monitoring widgets.

Applications Manager groups three widgets under this category.

## Bookmarks

Adds a list of external links, such as documentation, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and ticketing links, to a dashboard, so your team doesn't have to leave Applications Manager to reach them.

Unlike most widgets, Bookmarks isn't configured through a single edit form. Instead, each bookmark is its own entry that you add, edit, or remove directly from the widget on the dashboard.

### Bookmark entry fields

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Display Name | Name shown for the link in the widget. Required. |
| URL | The link target. Must be a valid URL. Required. |
| Description | Optional text shown alongside the link. |

**Note:** A widget can hold any number of bookmark entries; add, edit, or delete them one at a time from the widget itself.

## Custom HTML or Text

Lets administrators drop a block of custom HTML or plain text into a dashboard cell, for example, team instructions, an announcement, or a help note for operators.

### Configuration options

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Widget Name | Name that appears on the dashboard for this widget. |
| Custom Html / Text | The HTML or plain text body to display in the widget. |

**Note:** Because this widget can render arbitrary HTML, non-administrators viewing the dashboard see a one-time consent prompt before the content is displayed, and cannot execute `<script>` content even after accepting.

## Embed Web Page

Embeds an external web page, from another application or website, inside a dashboard cell using an iframe.

### Configuration options

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Widget Name | Name that appears on the dashboard for this widget. |
| URL for the Web Page | Address of the page to embed. Must begin with `http://` or `https://`. |
| Fetch widget content via server-to-server communication (for published widgets) | Visible only on the central/admin server. Fetches the page through the Applications Manager server itself instead of loading it directly in the visitor's browser. This is intended specifically for embedding a published dashboard or widget URL from one of your probe (managed) servers, and is not a general way to embed arbitrary external websites. |
| Height of the widget | Height of the embedded frame, in pixels. |
