Manually Enable Recovery Environment Post OS Deployment
Problem
In some instances during OS deployment, the recovery image of your machine may not be properly mapped. This misconfiguration can impact the functionality of your system's recovery options.
Cause
This typically occurs if the deployed image does not correctly enable the recovery partition.
Resolution
To enable the recovery environment on your machine, follow the steps below:
- Download the Script
- Download the recovery enablement script on the affected machine.
- Run the script as an administrator.
- Choose the Recovery Partition Type
Upon running the script, you will be prompted to choose between two options:
- OS Drive: Type 1, if your recovery boot.wim is located in the OS Partition.
- Different Partition: Type 2, if your recovery boot.wim is located in a separate partition.
- Configuring the Recovery Partition
- Option 1: OS Partition
- Option 2: Different Partition
- A list of available partitions will be displayed.
- Identify the partition where the recovery files (boot.wim) are located.
- Type in the Volume number corresponding to the partition with the recovery files.
