Steps to configure SAML SSO for TextExpander
About TextExpander
TextExpander is a productivity tool that lets you save time by creating shortcuts, called snippets, for frequently used text. When you type a shortcut, it automatically expands into the full text, such as email responses, signatures, code snippets, or form replies.
The following steps will help you enable SSO for TextExpander from Identity360.
Prerequisites
- The MFA and SSO license for Identity360 is required to enable SSO for enterprise applications.
- Log in to Identity360 as an Admin, Super Admin, or Technician who has Application Integration and Single Sign-on permissions.
- Navigate to Applications > Application Integration > Create New Application, and select TextExpander from the applications displayed.
Note: You can also find TextExpander from the search bar located at the top.
- Under the General Settings tab, enter the Application Name and Description.
- Under the Choose Capabilities tab, select Single Sign-on and click Continue.

- Under Integration Settings, navigate to the Single Sign On tab and click IdP Details. Copy the Metadata, which will be used during the configuration of TextExpander.

TextExpander (service provider) configuration steps
- Log in to TextExpander as an administrator.
- From the left menu, click Single Sign-On.

- From the SSO provider drop-down, choose Generic.
- Copy the ACS URL value, which will be used during the configuration of Identity360.
- In the SSO Point of Contact field, enter the Name and Email ID of the user configuring SSO.
- In the IdP Metadata field, paste the Metadata copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.

Identity360 (identity provider) configuration steps
- Switch to Identity360's application configuration page.
- In the Account ID field, paste the ACS URL value copied in step 4 of TextExpander configuration. For example, if the ACS URL value is https://app.textexpander.com/acs/54321, then 54321 is your Account ID.
- Enter the Relay State parameter, if necessary.
Note: Relay State is an optional parameter used with a SAML message to remember where you were or to direct you to a specific page after logging in.
- Click Save.

Your users will now be able to sign in to TextExpander through the Identity360 portal.
Note: For TextExpander, both SP-initiated and IdP-initiated flows are supported.
Steps to enable MFA for TextExpander
Setting up MFA for TextExpander using Identity360 involves the following steps:
- Set up one or more authenticators for identity verification when users attempt to log in to TextExpander. Identity360 supports various authenticators, including Google Authenticator, Zoho OneAuth, and email-based verification codes. Click here for steps to set up the different authenticators.
