# Tape Library Management | Tape Library Monitoring Software - ManageEngine OpManager ## Tape library management ### Monitoring and management of tape libraries using OpManager ManageEngine OpManager is a Tape Library management system that uses vendor-specific MIBs and/or APIs to automatically discover tape libraries in SAN / NAS networks. A complete set of assets (physical and logical), capacity, performance, and configuration information of the library and its components are discovered and represented in the OpManager client. Tape libraries are monitored for parameters such as cleaning status, door status, operational status, etc. Tape drives are monitored for addition, removal, mounting, unmounting, and other functions, and to detect fault conditions. SNMP traps from the tape library are collected and alarms are generated for fault conditions. Availability reports on tape libraries show availability trends, downtime history, MTTR, MTBF, etc., and [reports can be generated](https://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/help/advanced-report.html) for various time periods. OpManager enables launching of vendor device management web applications directly from the OpManager client and provides remote telnet capability via its web interface, enabling remote configuration. ### Tape libraries supported - ADIC - ATL Quantum - OverLand - Qualstar - SpectraLogic and [more](https://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/help/supported-storage-devices.html#tape_library) ### Features supported | Physical Assets | Logical Assets | Monitors | Report Details | |---|---|---|---| | Tape Drives; Tape Drive Ports; Media Access Drive; Library SCSI Ports; Library Fibre Ports | Partitions; Movers | Tape Library Status; Tape Drive Status; Drive Port Status; Changer Device Status | Tape Library Summary; Availability Trends; Top N Availability; Performance statistics; Location summary | **Note:** The above table gives a non-exhaustive list of features supported by OpManager for tape libraries (this list may not be applicable for all devices universally).
