UpdateDB Invalid Certificate

Problem

You are trying to update the vulnerability database and it fails with an error message - "Secure connection failed. The certificate is not trusted."

Cause

The SSL certificate of https://patchdb.manageengine.com is issued by "Sectigo RSA Domain Validation Secure Server CA".

There might be a configuration in your network to overwrite the SSL certificates with your own self-signed certificate or certificate from your enterprise CA or a trusted third-party CA.

Patch Manager Plus server uses a separate trust store so your self signed certificate or certificate from your trusted CA is not available in the Patch Manager Plus server's trust store. Hence it cannot establish a secure connection.

Please contact your network team and request exemption for https://patchdb.manageengine.com
