Java Version 7.6.0 - February 25, 2026

 Features

• Support for tracking outbound HTTP requests made via Apache HttpClient 5.x has been added.
• The agent now supports performance monitoring for database operations within reactive MongoDB environments.

Enhancements

• End-to-end transaction tracking for applications hosted on Reactor-Netty servers has been refined to ensure seamless visibility across reactive execution chain. 
• R2DBC PostgreSQL monitoring upgraded to support a broader range of implementation patterns and provide detailed diagnostic coverage for complex failure scenarios.

Issue fixes

• Resolved a Windows-specific defect where modified read/write permissions for the apminsight.conf file in the log directory were failing to apply.
• Optimized Redis performance tracking by eliminating the capture of non-essential pipeline operations.
• Fixed a data gap where the server address was not being recorded for MongoDB 4.x and 5.x instances.
• Corrected the logic for flagging external outbound HTTP calls. The errors are now accurately marked based on their respective HTTP status codes.

Java Version 7.5.0 - December 23, 2025

Feature

• Support for automatic identification and tracking of transactions in non-web applications that perform custom tasks, jobs, messaging queue calls, etc. in the background.

Enhancements

• Added metrics for outgoing HTTP calls for improved performance analysis.
• Additional component info metrics in traces for external calls.

Issues Fixed

• Fixed the issue with the configuration that tracks or ignores requests based on HTTP error codes for specific frameworks.
• Resolved an issue in capturing MongoDB queries for some operations.
• Rectified an issue where ignoring the transactions based on the URL extension did not work for Vert.x applications
• Classloading operation, to avoid class mismatches for HttpServletRequest (javax/jakarta) interface caused performance issues (shooting up memory) - fixed by replacing the approach with fetching the request class from the actual request object.

Java Version 7.4.0 - July 28, 2025

Features

• Support for capturing http response headers.

Enhancements

• Capturing traces solely based on http error code - extended to all app servers.
• Support for blocked thread count in JVM metrics.

Issues Fixed

• In some cases of SQL sub-queries, table names were getting captured with closing parenthesis - fixed.

Java Version 7.3.0 - June 30, 2025

Features

• Support for tracking HTTP calls made using Vert.x HttpClient.
• Support for tracking web transactions in applications built using the Vert.x reactive framework.
• Support for capturing SQL queries executed using the Vert.x SQL client library (reactive vertx-pg-client).
• Support for tracking web transactions in the RESTEasy Reactive JAX-RS framework (commonly used within the Quarkus ecosystem).

Issues Fixed

• The issue of status codes not being captured for HTTP calls made with certain versions of Apache HttpClient (both synchronous and asynchronous) has been fixed.

Java Version 7.2.0 - May 19, 2025

Features

• Support for tracking HTTP calls made using Spring’s Reactive WebClient.
• Support for capturing SQL queries executed using the R2DBC driver.

Enhancements

• Asynchronous (non-blocking) call response times are now included in the total transaction response time.
• Transactions are now marked as 'error' based on HTTP error codes, even if no exception is captured.

Java Version 7.1.0 - April 7, 2025

Enhancements

• Added an option to specify exact error or status codes to track while ignoring others.

Issues Fixed

• The issue of closure/waiting of HttpUrlConnection's streams observed in a few cases when using agent version 7.0 has been fixed.
• Fixed an issue where DELETE queries were not being tracked due to incorrect regex parsing.
• In cases where an external IP couldn't be resolved to a hostname, both the IP and hostname were missing from the component data. This has been fixed by ensuring the IP is used as the hostname when resolution fails.

Enhancements

• Support for detecting actual auto-scaling instances in AWS and Azure.
• The average for blocked threads count included in the default app parameters.
• SQL obfuscation has been enhanced for greater specificity.
• Capturing traces for all HTTP errors (previously captured only for 5xx error codes).
• Support for automatic detection of application name and port (enabled by default for OneAgent users).
• At each JVM startup, file writes and logging have been restructured to generate three logs—startup, agent, and diagnostics—organized under dedicated directories for each instance. A new directory named APM_Java_Instances will also be created in the agent's install location, containing basic metadata about each instance in individual JSON files.
• Support for the application name and port to be passed as options to the -javaagent argument.
• Support for configurations (Application name, APM URL, Application running port & proxy details) as environment variables.

Issues Fixed

• The issue with aggregation in HTTP metrics has been resolved.
• The issue with agent configurations being overwritten when specific keys are absent has been resolved.
• The issue with the agent troubleshooter connecting to the incorrect endpoint during the network connectivity check has been fixed.

Issues Fixed

• The issue of not capturing Redis transactions when using spring-data-redis has been resolved by capturing the Redis host details.
• The agent registration failure, identified in a few cases due to the length of vulnerable JAR versions being exceeded, has been resolved.
• The conflict between the agent logger and the application logger has been resolved.
• The issue with Tomcat startup slowness upon adding an agent has been resolved.
• The issue with parsing PreparedStatements in PostgreSQL and MySQL has been resolved.
• The failure of agent init() during runtime loading, caused by HttpClientBuilder init, has been fixed.
• The incorrect JVM Heap memory usage value has been fixed.
• The ArrayOutOfBoundsException related thread profiling issue, where the top N value is greater than the actual number of threads, has been fixed.
• The issue with high heap usage when monitoring a large number of external calls for a transaction has been fixed.
• The ArrayOutOfBoundsException caused by an index mismatch with proxy configuration via system property has been fixed.
• Negative values in application parameters have been fixed.

• The issue with Apache HttpClient 4.5.x calls not being captured has been resolved.

Enhancements

• The following thread profiling enhancements have been implemented:
  • Thread profiling is enabled by default, and it runs every eight hours for five minutes. It helps in identifying and auto-instrumenting slow methods.
    • You can also manually disable thread profiling.
  • Instead of listing the long-running methods, we switched to a tree model in which we retained the stacktrace structure and included additional information on each stack element.
  • Support for transaction-based profiling (only in ON-DEMAND profiling).
    • In addition to the fixed interval sampling, profiler will now pick the first few requests received during the profiling period.
  • Thread dumps collected during profiling are sent to the server along with other data (only in ON-DEMAND profiling).
    • There will be a maximum of 5 dumps. These dumps are saved locally and will be deleted once they are pushed to the Applications Manager servers.
  • We also collect information on the top N resource-consuming threads, including CPU time, memory allocated, and stacktrace.
• Support for tracking async transactions. - Support for the following components: Spring @Async annotation, Apache HttpAsyncClient, AsyncHttpClient, and CompletableFuture.
• The agent supports Java 8 and above only (Java 6 and 7 are no longer supported).
• Retries (up to three times) for sending profiler data have been added in case of communication failure.
• Additional Redis calls are supported.
• JAX-WS annotations and Webmethods components are supported.
• Jakarta EE 9+ support is now available.
• NTLM auth support for proxy authentication.
• Support for displaying the instance's IP address

Issues Fixed

• Agent shutdown time in 'apminsight.info' file kept appending to previous values - this has now been resolved. Only the latest values are retained now.
• Null values were shown in JMX metrics caused by a NaN exception.
• Timeout of HttpUrlConnection class were captured separately.

Enhancements

• Support for Play 2.7 & 2.8 framework.
• Support for OkHttp3 Client up to v4.8.
• Introduced an option to enable/disable diagnostics logs.
• REDIS component is enhanced to monitor additional operations like hset, hget, etc.
• Vulnerable classes of the log4j library have been removed (Agent uses log4j v1.2.17). (Latest version of log4j will be used in the next release.)

• When log level was set to OFF, agent was still printing few lines before being disabled.

Enhancements

• Support for monitoring messaging queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ.
• Headers of web requests are captured from this agent version.
• Checksum verification to validate the integrity of the downloaded agent.

Issues Fixed

• SQL queries were not captured while using MySQL client v8.x.

Enhancements

• Support for Java 15 monitoring.
• Standalone HTTP calls are tracked as background transactions - this was deprecated in agent v5.1.0 and is now reverted back.
• Automatic transaction grouping is applied to background transactions.
