AME Africa Healthcare (Pty) Ltd was founded in 2001 to spearhead a major IT project for the 846 Bed Tertiary Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital (IALCH) located in Durban, South Africa, the first large-scale hospital to be built in South Africa since 1994.
AME Africa Healthcare (Pty) Ltd led the implementation of a state-of-the-art healthcare information system that also integrated with all the advanced medical equipment present at the hospital. The project's completion made IALCH the first public hospital in South Africa to have fully filmless and paperless electronic patient medial records. The IALCH project has been used as a benchmark by hospitals looking to digitize their patients' medical records and overhaul their IT strategy.
Since completion of the project, AME Africa Healthcare has also been responsible for the entire operations and support of the hospital's IT environment.

Kiran Haripersad, a technology manager, saw that the help desk was frequently overwhelmed with password reset and account lockout requests and his IT staff was spending most of their time resolving them. To allow the IT staff to focus on more critical requests and ensure zero system downtime for users, Haripersad needed a solution that would enable users to reset their own passwords or unlock accounts without the help desk's intervention.
ADSelfService Plus helped the IT team enable password self-service for users straight from their login screens. The tool also helped tackle a common challenge all IT teams face when implementing a password self-service solution: user enrollment. The IT team used the enrollment reminder feature to send periodic enrollment reminders to users either via email or push notifications. With ADSelfService Plus, IT admins can also force non-enrolled users to enroll.
Since the team also uses other ManageEngine products, Haripersad said he was naturally inclined to test out ManageEngine's password management tool before experimenting with others.

He also stated that the other vendors he evaluated offered poor support and most were excessively priced for the features they offered.
"We evaluated quite a few vendors. Either they offered poor feedback or were too costly. None matched the value we got with ADSelfService Plus," Kiran added.
