Dubai International Airport drastically reduces its IT workload using ADSelfService Plus

About Dubai International Airport

Apart from managing commercial air traffic, it also has operations ranging from cargo services to advertisements. The business challenge

With the growing employee rate, the number of tickets for password resets also grew. The IT admins' workload became increasingly unbearable as the increasing need for password resets was not just a time-consuming task, but it was also a security concern. This led the Dubai International Airport's IT team to search for an innovative tool.

The solution

After getting familiar with ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus through seminars and events, it was simple decision to purchase and deploy the solution in their environment.

"ADSelfService Plus is simple to use. Even after the deployment, my interactions with the support team have always been fantastic. They are a very capable team," said Mohamad Nazar, system engineer at Dubai International Airport.

Reduced workload

"I consider self-service password reset as the most valuable feature," Nazar adds. With self-service password reset option available on users' login screens, Dubai International Airport has successfully reduced its IT help desk tickets by 20%. This has drastically minimized the workload of its IT staff.

Upgrading identity security

Passwords weren't cutting the chase. The airport had to raise its identity security game by enabling multi-factor authentication for endpoint logons. It is now using MFA with SMS, Google, and Microsoft Authenticator for nearly half a decade.

It is worthy to note that offline MFA, which was a feature requested by Nazar, is now available in ADSelfService Plus. Now, users have to go through MFA even when they are offline or when the MFA server is offline. This ensures identity security remains intact and users have uninterpreted access, always.
