“I’ve had this experience with ManageEngine since 2018. It gives me a level of comfort because I’ve known the product for a while. What has been the outcome? We have improved our cybersecurity maturity profile, and that’s what we were seeking to do.”

Associate IT director of information security, Ottawa Adventist Church

Case study highlights

The Ottawa Adventist Church has 11 ministries in Canada and a department that provides humanitarian support called the Adventist Disaster Risk Management.

We sat down with Sam Kutondo, associate IT director of information security, to understand how the church's cybersecurity needs evolved over the years.

He starts by saying that ManageEngine has helped monitor vulnerabilities with its centralized log collection and reporting capabilities.

Using Log360 helps the church identify indicators of compromise ahead of time, and if a discrepancy occurs, the IT team can correlate and determine the threat to devise an action plan. The tool also allows the team to minimize the number of alerts. Sam says, "Being able to reduce the alerts to the ones that we need to pay attention to is very, very helpful."

PAM360 helps the IT team identify the moment a user logs on and off with privileged access, overseeing processes that might indicate compromise so the team is constantly alert.

As an outcome of these deployments, the Ottawa Adventist Church has improved its cybersecurity maturity profile. It now knows which cybersecurity framework to pay attention to, what factors constitutes a breach, and how to identify unusual activity as a potential cyberthreat."

Sam says, "You need the tools...you need the people, and ManageEngine has been the tool for us."
