Our journey so far

Our story began in 1996 when we founded AdventNet, a network management company with roots in New Jersey, the United States and Chennai, India.

While AdventNet was focused on the telecom industry, by the 2000s, IT was becoming more and more prominent in the workplace. Anticipating the major role that IT would soon play for companies large and small, we pivoted our R&D to focus on IT management. The market back then was largely controlled by vendors with complex, expensive choices. We set out to shake things up.

Over 20 years later, we are a global player with enterprise-grade solutions for managing your entire IT infrastructure from end to end, and we have offices across the world. Here is a glimpse at our journey

  • 1996

    We began as a humble yet profitable-from-inception telecom-focused network management company.

  • 2002

    A big year for us: We changed our focus from the telecom industry to the enterprise IT market with the launch of ManageEngine JMX Studio and Middleware Manager.

  • 2004

    Our sister brand Zoho launched its first product in the business productivity and collaboration space: Zoho Virtual Office.

  • 2007

    We forayed into the cloud with the launch of our cloud-based website and user experience monitoring solution.

  • 2011

    We organized our first User Conferences to meet our customers and exchange ideas. Meanwhile, within the company, a side project on sentiment analysis grew into a full-fledged, AI-focused R&D effort that's still going strong today.

  • 2012

    ManageEngine turned 10! What better way to celebrate than our first ever User Conference in Dubai? This event has become an annual fixture.

  • 2018

    We launched our first AI-powered feature in our cloud-based ITOM solution. This was followed by the introduction of ML-based user behavior analytics in our AD auditing solution. We ramped up AI's role further with the introduction of user and entity behavior analytics in our security solutions.

  • 2020

    We navigated a challenging year with an instant switch to remote work using our in-house tools. We then helped other organizations do the same through our Secure Remote Access Toolkit, which we made available for free for the first 100 days.

  • 2021

    We simplified business intelligence and IT analytics by adding augmented analytical capabilities to our in-house AI assistant.

  • 2022

    ManageEngine turned 20! Zoho Corporation also crossed $1 billion in revenue thanks to the trust our customers have put in us and the relationships we've built with our partners.
