# GenAI Configuration

GenAI Configuration in Analytics Plus lets you control how generative AI works across your workspace. It allows you to manage available AI skills, connect supported AI vendors, and define how your data is used to generate accurate and relevant responses.

You can enable specific AI skills to assist with tasks such as report creation and actions, formula and query suggestions, dashboard and slideshow creation, and synonym suggestions. You can also select the preferred AI vendor and choose to share contextual metadata to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated results.

## Install Add-ons

Before configuring GenAI in Analytics Plus, you must install the required Gen AI and Ask Zia add-ons.

Follow the steps below to install the add-ons:

1. Log in to Analytics Plus and navigate to **Settings** >> **Configuration** >> **Gen AI Configuration.**
2. Click **Install Now** in the notification displayed at the top of the page.

3. The **GenAI** installation wizard opens. Click **Next** to proceed.

4. Under **Download Add-ons**, click **Download** for Gen AI. The **Ask Zia** add-on is included as a dependency and will be downloaded along with it.

5. Wait for the download to complete. Once both add-ons display the **Downloaded** status, click **Finish**.

6. Restart the **ManageEngine Analytics Plus** service for the installed packages to take effect.

**Note:**

- The GenAI configuration options will be available after the required add-ons are installed and the Analytics Plus service is restarted.

## Configure Gen AI

Follow the steps below to configure Gen AI in Analytics Plus:

1. Once the add-ons are installed, navigate to **Settings** >> **Configuration** >> **Gen AI Configuration.**

2. Under **Enhance Skills using AI**, select the preferred **AI vendor** from the drop-down list.

3. The following AI vendors are supported (more vendors will be supported in the future):

- Cloud LLMs
  - OpenAI
  - SiliconFlow
  - Google (Gemini)
- Local LLMs
  - Ollama

4. Once selected refer to the corresponding documentation below for instructions on obtaining the required credentials:

- [Google (Gemini)](https://aistudio.google.com/app/onboarding)
- Ollama - API key is not supported for this configuration.

5. Enter the required credentials or configuration details for the selected AI vendor. For example, when configuring OpenAI, enter the following:

- **OpenAI Secret Key:** Enter the API key generated from your OpenAI account.
- **OpenAI Organization ID:** Enter your OpenAI organization ID (optional).

6. **Authenticate and Save** the configuration to enable the selected AI model.

**Note:**

- Only one AI model can be active at a time.

## Manage AI Configuration

You can manage the configured AI model using the following options:

- **Edit**: Modify the existing AI vendor configuration or credentials.
- **Delete**: Remove the configured AI vendor credentials from Analytics Plus.

## Ask Zia Skills

These skills help Ask Zia better interpret your prompts and assist with tasks across reporting, data preparation, and automation.

- **Report creation and actions**  
  Use natural language to create new reports or perform actions such as viewing, listing, opening, sharing and exporting existing reports.
- **Formula suggestion**  
  Get suggestions to help you write accurate formulas faster.
- **Query suggestion**  
  Build SQL queries more easily with contextual suggestions as you type.
- **Dashboard creation and actions**  
  Generate dashboards using conversational prompts or take actions like opening, listing, scheduling emails, and exporting dashboards.
- **Slideshow creation and actions**  
  Convert reports into slideshows through prompts or manage existing ones by opening, listing, scheduling, and exporting them.
- **Synonym suggestion**  
  Get intelligent column synonym suggestions to improve natural language interpretation.

## Insight Skills

These skills improve the quality of insights you get from Zia by making them more accurate and data-driven. To use these skills, you must first configure Key Driver Analysis (KDA) in Analytics Plus. - **Zia Insights - Descriptive and diagnostic**  
  Understand what is driving the changes in your data with the help of intelligent, AI-generated insights. This skill helps you uncover patterns, outliers, and the causes of key metric shifts through descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
- **Zia Insights - Recommendation generation**  
  Get recommendations based on the factors influencing significant changes in your KPIs. This skill works as part of Zia's Key Driver Analysis, and helps you understand not just what changed, but why it changed and what to do next.

## Optimize GenAI results by sharing metadata

You can choose to improve the accuracy and relevance of GenAI responses by enabling this option.

When turned on, Analytics Plus shares workspace metadata with respective embedding APIs, which generate vector representations (i.e., text converted into numerical format) of the metadata. These vectors are securely stored within Analytics Plus. This processing occurs asynchronously in the background.

When you ask a question in Ask Zia, your input is also converted into vector representations, when needed, using the same process. A relevance search is then performed to fetch the most relevant metadata based on your input. This metadata is then included in the context provided to the language model, resulting in more accurate and context-aware responses.

This process follows [Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)](https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/optimizing-llm-accuracy#retrieval-augmented-generation-rag) and helps the language model understand your data structure more effectively, leading to improved suggestions and insights across supported skills.

**Note:**

- Only workspace metadata and contextual elements will be shared.
- Shared metadata may include report metadata (such as the report name, chart type, and layout elements like field names placed on the X-axis, Y-axis, color, tooltip, and other visual components), table names, column names, data types, synonyms, and descriptions. Contextual information may include filter conditions, query logic, and prompt content.
- Personally identifiable information (PII) is not shared.

## Access Control

Under **Access Control**, choose who in your organization can use the enabled GenAI skills. Once selected, click on the **Apply** button for the changes to take place.
