Bookmark

The Bookmark method lets you save the sign-in URL for an application that does not support SAML, OAuth, or OpenID Connect. It places a one-click link to the application's sign-in page on the user's portal. The bookmark only opens the sign-in page; it does not log users in automatically, and passwords are never stored or shared. Users will still need to authenticate using their own credentials on the application.

Use Bookmark for applications that cannot do federated SSO, such as legacy or in-house web apps, internal portals like a learning management system, and third-party portals you don't control, such as partner or bank portals. It also works well for quick-link references, for example a set of onboarding resources surfaced in one place for new employees. Adding them as bookmarks puts every application in the user's portal, so users have one place to open everything instead of keeping their own browser bookmarks, and admins get a complete application list in one console for onboarding and offboarding.

Configuring a Bookmark application

To configure a Bookmark application:

  1. Go to Applications > Application Integration > Create New Application and click Custom Application.
  2. In the General Settings tab, enter an Application Name. Optionally, you can add a Description and upload a Logo Icon.
  3. Under Choose Capabilities, select Single Sign-on and click Continue.
  4. In the Integration Settings tab, within the Method dropdown, select Bookmark.
  5. In the Login URL field, enter the URL of the application's sign-in page.
Note This URL does not sign users in automatically. Users are taken to the application's login page, where they enter their own credentials to authenticate and access the application.
  6. Click Save.

Assigning the application to users

After you save the application, go to Applications > Single Sign-on and use the Assigned To column to assign the users or groups who should have access. The assigned users can then open the application from their own user portals.
