Power BI auditing

Handling data can be difficult, especially without the right analytics tool. Analytics tools can help you collect and interpret data, but with the multitude of analytical tools available it can be hard to know which one will benefit your organization the most. Many people opt to use the Power BI business analytics suite because of its finesse. But if an organization has locations across the globe, they need to analyze region-specific data, which means that multiple people have to be given access to Power BI.

Providing access rights might not seem like an issue, but Power BI's audit logs are difficult to get to and require multiple access features to be enabled in Microsoft 365. An administrator needs Compliance Manager rights as well as Audit Logs and View Only Audit Log permissions just to view Power BI audit logs. • Long-term historical data: In native Microsoft 365, depending on the data being audited, there are limits to how long you can retrieve historical data. M365 Manager Plus stores audit data indefinitely to help you maintain complete records.
• Real-time auditing: Instead of gathering associated data for audit reports whenever they're generated, M365 Manager Plus keeps audit reports updated in real time.
• Profile-based auditing: Instead of going through an entire list of audit reports to find the right one (as is required in Microsoft 365), M365 Manager Plus lets you create your own profiles with selected actions to audit. These profiles provide a way to view only the audit details you need to see, and you can also opt to view the selected actions performed by specific users.
• Group-based auditing: While Microsoft 365 isn't able to audit user activities based on group membership, M365 Manager Plus lets you easily generate reports to summarize this activity.
• Advanced filtering: In Microsoft 365, you can only filter logs based on certain attribute values. With M365 Manager Plus, filter your logs based on any attribute and perform multi-valued searches as needed.
• Custom views: While Microsoft 365 doesn't support custom views, you can create your own custom views with M365 Manager Plus to see filtered data, summarized data, or filtered summarized data.

• Export data: In native Microsoft 365, you can only export data to CSV. But in M365 Manager Plus, you can export audit data to PDF, XLSX, HTML, or CSV.
