# E-mail

You can configure the incoming and outgoing mail server settings. **E-mail attachments can be secured, as explained** [here](https://www.manageengine.com/mobile-device-management/how-to/mdm-secure-email-attachments.html) **using ME MDM app. ME MDM app lets you securely store and view E-mail attachments**.

## Profile Description

| PROFILE SETTINGS | DESCRIPTION |

| Account Name | Name of the mail account |
| Account Type | Account type as IMAP / POP |
| Path Prefix | Specify the path prefix |
| User Display Name | User Name to be displayed. Type "%username%" to fetch the appropriate User Name mapped to the device |
| Email Address | Email address for communication. Type "%email%" to fetch the appropriate Email Address mapped to the device |
| Prevent Moving Messages to other Mail Accounts | Prevent users from moving mails to other mail accounts on their devices. This will also restrict users from forwarding or replying to already moved mails using other mail accounts. |
| Disable recent mail address sync (iOS 6 and above) | Disable syncing the recently used email address in iCloud |
| Incoming Mail |  |
| Mail server | Name of the incoming mail server |
| Port | Port used for incoming mails |
| User name | User Name to be displayed. Type "%username%" to fetch the appropriate User Name mapped to the device |
| Authentication Type | Authentication type to be specified |
| Password | Password for the incoming mail server (If the password field is left empty, password will be prompted once the profile is installed in the device). |
| Use SSL for mail communication | Retrieve incoming mail through SSL |
| Outgoing Mail |  |
| Mail server | Name of the outgoing mail server |
| Port | Port used for outgoing mails |
| User name | User Name to be displayed. Type "%username%" to fetch the appropriate User Name mapped to the device |
| Authentication Type | Authentication type to be specified |
| Password | Password for the outgoing mail server (If the password field is left empty, password will be prompted once the profile is installed in the device). |
| Use outgoing password same as incoming | Option to use the same password for both outgoing and incoming mails |
| Block Account usage from non-Mail Apps | Prevent the usage of Exchange Mail account from non-Mail Apps such as Photos, Safari etc. to send messages. |
| Use SSL for mail communication | Specify to use SSL for mail communication |
| Enable S/MIME to encrypt or decrypt Mails | Send outgoing mails using S/MIME encryption and and receive incoming mails using S/MIME decryption |
| Certificate to Encrypt Outgoing Mails | Upload the required certificate to encrypt all outgoing mails. [SCEP](https://www.manageengine.com/mobile-device-management/help/profile_management/ios/mdm_scep.html) certificates can also be utilized for this. |
| Certificate to Decrypt Incoming Mails | Upload the required certificate to decrypt all incoming mails. [SCEP](https://www.manageengine.com/mobile-device-management/help/profile_management/ios/mdm_scep.html) certificates can also be utilized for this. |

## Dynamic Variables :

- The below mentioned dynamic variables are retrieved from the data that has been provided while enrolling the device.
- %email% - will get the appropriate email address, mapped to the device
- %username% - will get the appropriate user name, mapped to the device
