App Content is Hidden When Screen Sharing for Security Reasons

Problem

During a remote control or screen sharing session, the screen may turn black when entering passwords or accessing sensitive fields.

Cause

This behaviour is intentional. Some applications are configured to hide their content during screen sharing whenever sensitive information such as passwords, PINs, or sensitive data is being entered. This restriction ensures that confidential details are not visible to remote viewers.

Resolution

No action is required. This is a security feature and not a malfunction. The screen will return to normal once the sensitive input is complete.

If the blackout continues beyond password entry:

  • Confirm the application only restricts sensitive fields.
  • Check whether additional OS-level or third-party privacy tools are enforcing extended screen blocking.
  • Reconnect the remote session if the display does not restore automatically.
