The device phone number is not displayed on the MDM server, and the following error is shown: "Phone number is not detected."
This issue may occur due to one of the following reasons:
Confirm that a valid, active SIM card is installed on the device. Please note that Wi-Fi-only iPads do not support cellular connectivity, and therefore a phone number will not be available for these devices.
If the phone number is stored as "Unknown" on the device, the MDM server will be unable to retrieve it. Follow the platform-specific steps below to verify.
To check if the phone number is saved on your Android device:
If the phone number shows as "Unknown" here, MDM will also not be able to display it. This usually happens when the mobile carrier has not stored the phone number on the SIM card. In such cases, reach out to the respective mobile carrier to have the phone number provisioned on the SIM.
