Windows 7 ESU Error 50023
This error is usually encountered when deploying patches to an operating system that has reached its End of Life (EOL) and no longer receives standard updates. To proceed with patch deployment, an active Extended Security Updates (ESU) license is required.
A vendor support contract ending is not, by itself, the same as the operating system reaching EOL. Endpoint Central can deploy standard patches while Microsoft continues to publish them. After EOL, standard updates stop and eligible systems require ESU activation to receive the applicable security updates.

Cause
This error indicates that the Extended Security Updates (ESU) license is either not installed or has not been successfully activated post-installation.
