# Monitor Group Business Application

Create a logical view of your heterogeneous IT infrastructure by grouping resources, such as applications, servers, and systems in your network. We call the logical view a **'Monitor Group'** and the applications and servers are **'Monitor Types'**. Each instance of a Monitor Type is called **'Monitors'**. This gives you an integrated view for effective monitoring and management.

For example, the [performance](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/performance-management.html) of an online web application depends on various factors, such as the health of the [application server](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/application-monitoring.html) hosting the web application, the availability of the [web server](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/service-monitoring.html) for accessing the web applications, and the [database server](https://www.manageengine.com/products/applications_manager/database-monitoring.html) for storing or retrieving the required information. These web applications and services can be grouped together and monitored as a single business application.
