PartsSource's primary goal is to assist healthcare facilities by solving their on-demand services. This required high operational efficiency across the organization. Ben Metz, the security administrator, realized that manually addressing password service requests was time-consuming, highly inefficient, and significantly increased their workload.
After carefully evaluating ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus for three months, Metz realized it was their ideal solution. Upon implementation, self-service capabilities were immediately enabled for users. Even as password reset requests increased, the time technicians spent unlocking accounts or resetting passwords decreased exponentially. This also reduced the downtime users experienced when locked out of their accounts.
Using ADSelfService Plus, Metz enforced a two-factor authentication (TFA) using Google Duo for multiple endpoint users simultaneously. The solution also offered automated and scheduled reports to monitor every failed TFA attempt across the organization.
As the primary requirement was solved, Ben had a few other requirements. PartsSource purchased OnboardPro, ManageEngine's exclusive implementation services for IAM and SIEM solutions, to implement ADSelfService Plus customized to their environment.
Metz requested periodic email alerts to ensure timely password resets. With the support of our implementation team, custom mail notifications were configured based on the organization's password policy deadlines. Additionally, to avoid any account lockouts, a custom mail notification, copied to the user's manager, was triggered if the user failed to reset their password as the deadline approached.
As requested by Metz, our implementation team also configured automatic ticket generation in the ServiceDesk application if password-expired users were identified.
