Instructions to Apply Hot Fixes

Prerequisites

• Shut down the Patch Connect Plus server. (Refer to the steps mentioned below).
  1. Method 1: Right-click on the Patch Connect Plus logo in the notification area of the taskbar and click Stop Service.
  2. Method 2: Open the Run menu (Windows key + R) and type services.msc. In the Services menu, right-click on ManageEngine Patch Connect Plus and click on Stop.
• Important:
  1. Take a backup of the Patch Connect Plus installation directory (<Install_Dir>/PatchConnectPlus) to avoid any data loss during the upgrade process.
  2. If you have installed Patch Connect Plus Server on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 8, Windows 2012 or Windows 2012 R2 you should login as adefault administratorbefore running the Update Manager tool.
  3. Ensure that either your Patch Connect Plus installation directory or the Patch Connect Plus Directory folder in the system on which the Patch Connect Plus database is running is not scanned by the anti virus.
  4. If the Patch Connect Plus Service is being monitored by a 3rd party tool or a script that will restart the service, ensure that you disable it until you complete the upgrade process

1. If you are using Patch Connect Plus build version 90122 to 90126:

• Download the latest certificate by clicking here.
• Execute the UpdateManager.bat file present in the<Install_Dir>/PatchConnectPlus/bindirectory.
• Browse to the downloaded .crt file and click on Import.

If you are using Patch Connect Plus build version 90121 and below:

• Download the latest certificate by clicking here.
• Open command prompt with Run as administrator permission.
• Navigate to <Install_Dir>/PatchConnectPlus/bin/scripts/ directory.
• Then execute the UpdMgr.bat file.
• Browse to the downloaded .crt file and click on Import.

2. Then click Browseand select the.ppm file that you have downloaded.

3. Click Installto install the hotfix. This may take few minutes depending on the amount of data that needs to be migrated.

4. Wait until the hotfix is fully installed.

5. Click Closeand then click Exitto exit the Update Manager tool.

6. Start the Patch Connect Plus server.
