ADManager Plus enhances security and efficiency for BGC Australia

Business challenges

The problem

Before ADManager Plus, managing user onboarding, offboarding, and updates was a manual process that required direct access to Active Directory. This increased security risks since L1 staff could modify, delete, or create accounts with unrestricted access.

Additionally, tracking configurations such as email forwarding settings was time-consuming, making it difficult to quickly identify potential security gaps. These shortcomings prompted BGC Australia to implement an identity governance and administration (IGA) solution that helps them expedite user management tasks, such as user provisioning, security delegation, deprovisioning, with accuracy.

The solution

BGC Australia's IT team implemented ADManager Plus, ManageEngine's IGA solution. ADManager Plus' role-based security delegation feature helped BGC's administrative teams ensure that the L1 staff's permissions aligned with their tasks' requirements. This mitigated security risks while enabling efficient user onboarding and offboarding.

The use of orchestration templates simplified user account provisioning, reducing human error and ensuring that UPN and email domains were assigned as predefined values. These templates helped the IT team standardize user provisioning.
