Business challenges
Lean IT operations: To drive efficiency and reduce overhead, Corium downsized its IT team. This created a need for automation and centralized tools to maintain agility without increasing the burden for its existing workforce.
Fragmented reporting and monitoring: The lack of a unified platform for Microsoft 365 activity tracking and bulk updates created inefficiencies, especially for a solo IT professional managing the environment.
The problem
With a strategic decision to operate with a IT team that underwent downsizing recently, Corium found itself needing smarter solutions to manage its Microsoft 365 environment. "In order to be more efficient and agile, we reduced our IT employee base and looked for tools that can help us monitor and make bulk updates," said Agostino Racanati, the head of IT at Corium. However, fragmented monitoring and the absence of centralized reporting made it difficult to respond quickly to issues, track mailbox content, or maintain consistent oversight of user activity.
The solution
The adoption of ManageEngine M365 Manager Plus was a shot on the arm of Corium's moderately staffed IT team. With all activity tracking and reporting of Corium's Microsoft 365 environment consolidated into a single interface, Racanati could build custom reports, apply filters, and schedule them as needed. "I prefer to have a single location for all activity and reporting. With [M365 Manager plus], I can build my own custom reports and have them scheduled on a routine basis," he explained.
The mailbox and content search functionalities of M365 Manager Plus also stood out as a major benefit. When needed, Racanati could swiftly search across mailboxes to extract crucial information, allowing for faster response times and better operational oversight. "Upon request, I can quickly search across our mailboxes for information quickly and effectively," he noted.
In terms of alerting, the solution's capabilities empowered Racanti's team to respond to anomalous events immediately or escalate issues. "Being an IT organization of one, I'm able to quickly create alerts and respond to them immediately or escalate to our MSP," said Racanati. He also highlighted the efficiency of ManageEngine's support team, who were responsive and agile to accommodate customizations into the solution. Racanti expressed immense satisfaction towards his use of M365 Manager Plus: "I think [M365 Manager Plus] is a solid, easy to use product that doesn't require me to keep up with scripting challenges. Overall, I've used ManageEngine products in the past and M365 Manager Plus has been a great benefit."
