Pharmaceutical manufacturer improves identity security with ADSelfService Plus

Business challenges
With operations spread across three countries and a three-tier employee system, FDB's help desk was overwhelmed with handling all the password reset tickets. "They [employees] are calling the help desk and asking them to reset the passwords, and we don't have MFA and all that good stuff," said Piyush Goel, senior infrastructure engineer at FDB, of the company's situation before implementing ADSelfService Plus.
The organization also did not employ an MFA solution. This left the servers in its system unprotected from threat actors and takeover attempts. With a worldwide customer base, FDB also had to comply with regulations that require companies to have MFA to protect their network servers.
The solution: ADSelfService Plus
FDB chose ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus, an identity security solution with MFA, SSO, and self-service password reset (SSPR) capabilities, to address these challenges. The solution's SSPR capability secured by MFA has improved user productivity and helped the help desk steer clear of password reset tickets. "[U]sers can go and reset their passwords to the portal and also they can use MFA for logging in to the service," said Goel.
Securing FDB's servers with advanced MFA
ADSelfService Plus has also helped FDB secure its servers with the endpoint MFA feature. "So whenever a user logs in or an application owner logs in to any of the servers with his account, he has to pass the MFA thing. Even [if] somebody breaches his username and password, still he has the MFA thing. And the second thing is it's a requirement. We produce medicines for many of the customers across the world. So it's a requirement for one of our customers [to] have MFA enabled for the servers and the tech stops, so we have enabled MFA for the server as of now," said Goel.
Future plans with ADSelfService Plus
While FDB primarily employs ADSelfService Plus' MFA and SSPR features, it is planning to roll out the solution's password expiration notification, conditional access, and SMS-based notification features once they have been analyzed and approved to meet FDB's requirements.
