Steps to configure SAML SSO for Bitly
About Bitly
Bitly is a link management platform that lets users shorten, customize, and track URLs. It helps individuals and businesses create branded links, monitor clicks and engagement, generate QR codes, and optimize link performance across digital campaigns—all from a single, easy-to-use platform.
The following steps will help you enable SSO for Bitly from Identity360.
Prerequisites
- The MFA and SSO license for Identity360 is required to enable SSO for enterprise applications.
- Log in to Identity360 as an Admin, Super Admin, or Technician with a role that has Application Integration and Single Sign-on permissions.
- Navigate to Applications > Application Integration > Create New Application and select Bitly from the applications displayed.
Note: You can also find Bitly by using the search bar located at the top.
- On the General Settings tab, enter the Application Name and Description.
- Under Choose Capabilities, select Single Sign-on and click Continue.

- On the Integration Settings tab, navigate to Single Sign On and click IdP Details. Copy the Login URL, Entity ID, and Signing Certificate values, which will be used later during the configuration in Bitly.

Bitly (service provider) configuration steps
- Log in to Bitly, the service provider (SP), as an administrator.
- Click Settings on the left sidebar.
- Under Account settings, click Single sign-on.
- Create a URL to use for your SSO login page. Make this something unique and specific to your organization. Copy this value, which will be used during Identity360 configuration.
Note: It's a good idea to use your company's name.
- Click Verify.
- Enter the email domain of the users who will be able to log in with SSO.
- Choose the default group for new users, if required.
- From the Choose your identity provider drop-down, select Identity360.
- In the Enter IDP URL field, paste the Login URL value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
- In the Enter SAML endpoint field, paste the Login URL value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
- In the Enter issuer URL or entity ID field, paste the Entity ID value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
- In the Enter or upload x.509 certificate field, paste the Signing Certificate value copied in step 6 of the prerequisites.
- Click Save.
Identity360 (identity provider) configuration steps
- Switch to the application configuration page in Identity360, the identity provider (IdP).
- In the Account ID field, enter the value copied in step 4 of the Bitly configuration. For example, if https://bitly.com/sso/valocorp is your SSO URL, then valocorp will be your Account ID.
- Enter the Relay State parameter, if necessary.
Note: The Relay State is an optional parameter used with a SAML message to remember where you were or to direct you to a specific page after logging in.
- Click Save.

Your users will now be able to sign in to Bitly through the Identity360 portal.
Note: For Bitly, both SP-initiated and IdP-initiated flows are supported.
Steps to enable MFA for Bitly
Setting up MFA for Bitly using Identity360 involves the following steps:
- Set up one or more authenticators for identity verification when users attempt to log in to Bitly. Identity360 supports various authenticators, including Google Authenticator, Zoho OneAuth, and email-based verification codes. Click here for steps to set up the different authenticators.
