Device already exists in OpManager - Why am I seeing this error?

When adding devices to OpManager manually, you might face an error saying "Device already exists in OpManager.". The reason you are faced with this error could be because:

  • A device with same IP already exists in OpManager.
  • A device with same name already exists in OpManager.
  • Unique SysName might have be enabled. Generally, administrators choose to enable the SysName of devices under Settings > Basic Settings > System Settings > Discovery > 'Unique System DisplayName'. Probably, the newly added device has the same SysName of one of the existing devices.
