Patch Download Checksum Failed

Problem

If the full remark reports a checksum failure with error 60000, record the affected Patch ID and file.

Patch download fails with a Checksum Mismatch error.

Cause

A vendor can replace a download while the displayed application version remains similar.

A Checksum Failed or Checksum Mismatch error can occur when the download is incomplete or unsuccessful.

The patch database supplies the vendor checksum. After download, the product compares the file with that checksum.

A package checksum and an executable digital signature verify different properties. For an unsigned executable, verify the exact file and its source. Download checksum validation alone does not establish that the executable is safe.

Resolution

Compare the exact Patch ID, package variant, original filename and expected checksum. Update the patch database and retry with the package required for that entry. If the current vendor file still differs, send Support the URL and expected and received checksums. Keep checksum validation enabled.

A successful transfer does not by itself confirm that checksum validation or every dependency has succeeded. For Windows update component restore, check the matching dependency and follow the dependency-file instructions in Troubleshoot Windows Update errors. If the mismatch persists, collect the download URL, download logs, and expected and received checksums for Support.

For On-Premises Setup

Verify whether the affected patch can be downloaded manually in a browser on the server machine.

For Cloud Setup
