The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) is an autarchy linked to the Ministry of Health, part of the Brazilian National Health System (SUS) as the coordinator of the Brazilian Health Regulatory System, present throughout the national territory.
In its own words, ANVISA’s role is to "protect and promote the health of population intervening the risks associated with production and use of products and services subject to heath regulation, in a coordinated and integrated action within the National Health System (SUS)."
