Download Service Pack to upgrade EUM Agent
This page serves as an upgrade manual for theEnd User Monitoringagent. By installing the provided service pack in the .ppm file format, users withEUM Agent versions 21.4 and highercan seamlessly upgrade to the latest version. Get to know more about the latest features, enhancements, and issues fixed in therelease notes.

Note:It is recommended to use the SHA256 checksums toverify the integrity of the packagesyou download.
Note:We suggest moving to a compatible EUM Agent that matches the installed APM build version. Please refer to the compatibility matrixavailable in this linkfor guidance.
- Users accessing the EUM Agent directly via the web client can see the build version in the top-right corner.Check the image guideto locate the build number.
- Alternatively, the build version can be viewed within the APM build by navigating to the User Experience tab and clicking on Locations. Kindlyrefer to this imagefor an enhanced comprehension.
- Download the Service Pack
- Download the compatible service pack from the provided link. Place the downloaded file inside a folder on the machine where the EUM Agent is installed.
- If prompted, you may need to import the ManageEngine public key certificate file during the upgrade process. Please download the latest certificate file (.crt) fromthis linkand have it ready.
Note:This is a one-time process done to verify the integrity of the PPM file.
Shutdown the EUM Agent
- If the EUM Agent service is currently installed on your system, please stop its operation. In the case of Windows, navigate to theServicesapplication and locate the EUM Agent service. Right-click on the service and click Stop.

- Using the command line option, execute the following command from the< EUM Agent Home>folder to stop the EUM Agent:
ForWindows:StopServer.bat -force
ForLinux:sh StopServer.sh -force - As a good practice, we recommend you take a complete backup of the EUM Agent Home<. folder.
Upgrade process
- Run the following script located in the<EUM Agent Home>/binfolder:
ForWindows:UpdateManager.bat
ForLinux:sh UpdateManager.sh - Browse to locate and select the service pack file (.ppm) saved on your computer.
- ClickInstallto initiate the upgrade process.
- If asked, browse and select the latest .crt file downloaded in the first step.
- Once the 'Installed' message appears on your screen, clickFinishto complete the installation.
We recommend moving to a compatible APM build version for the EUM Agent. Please refer to the compatibility matrix
- Run the following script located in the<EUM Agent Home>/binfolder:
Start the EUM Agent
Once you have completed the upgrade process: proceed with the following steps to start the EUM agent:- If the EUM Agent service is currently installed on your system, navigate to theServicesapplication and locate the EUM Agent service. Right-click on the service and click. Start.

- Using the command line option, execute the following command from the< EUM Agent Home>folder to start the EUM Agent:
ForWindows:StartServer.bat
ForLinux:sh StartServer.sh
Note:
- Start the command line option (Windows) as an administrator [cmd → run as the administrator].Click hereto see the screenshot.
- <EUM Agent Home>refers to the directory in which you have installed the EUM Agent. This directory location is specified by you when you install the agent. For example,C:/Program Files/ManageEngine/EUMAgent.
