Licensing in ADSelfService Plus
ADSelfService Plus requires a valid license to enable full functionality beyond the evaluation period. This section explains the available license editions, subscription models, add-ons, and steps to apply or upgrade the license.
After you purchase a license, you will receive a license file (License.xml) via email. Follow the license application steps to apply your license.
The ADSelfService Plus licensing model
ADSelfService Plus is licensed based on the number of enabled domain users you wish to manage with the product.
ADSelfService Plus is available in four editions designed to meet different organizational needs.

Standard edition
The Standard edition provides essential self-service capabilities, including:
- Web-based self-service password reset and account unlock
- Basic authenticators
- Password expiration notifications

- Real-time password synchronization
- Password reset using the ADSelfService Plus Android and iOS mobile apps and mobile browser
- Self-service directory updates, employee search, organization chart, and self-service group management
Professional edition
The Professional edition includes all Standard edition features, along with:
- Password reset from Windows,macOS, and Linux login screens
- Advanced authenticators
- Conditional access
- Cached credential update for remote password resets
- Password policy enforcement in Windows Change Password and Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC)
Endpoint MFA (Licensed module)
Endpoint MFA is a separately licensed module in ADSelfService Plus that extends MFA beyond web applications to endpoints, servers, and network access points.
What endpoint MFA protects
- Windows endpoints (with offline MFA support)
- macOS and Linux endpoints
- VPNs and RADIUS-based devices
- Outlook on the web and IIS-based applications
Every ADSelfService Plus installation includes 10 free Endpoint MFA Standard licenses, regardless of the product edition.
Endpoint MFA Standard edition
The Endpoint MFA Standard edition includes:
- SSO for applications
- MFA for application logins
- MFA for Windows, macOS, and Linux workstations
Endpoint MFA Professional edition
The Endpoint MFA Professional edition includes all Endpoint MFA Standard features, plus:
- MFA for Windows Servers
- MFA for VPNs, RDP, User Account Control (UAC), and OWA
- Offline MFA for Windows machines
- Adaptive MFA
- Device-based MFA for Windows
- Passwordless login for self-service portal and cloud applications
- Adaptive SSO

- Endpoint MFA Standard edition starts at $495 for 500 users.
- Endpoint Professional edition starts at $995 for 500 users

SMS add-on availability:
- The SMS add-on cannot be purchased in the United States.
- US customers must purchase SMS credits from an external SMS provider and integrate it with ADSelfService Plus.
Subscription models
Annual subscription
- License is valid for one year.
- Renewal is required to continue using the product.
- Includes maintenance and support for the subscription period.
- Available for Standard and Professional editions.
Perpetual subscription
- One-time purchase with no expiration.
- Annual maintenance and support should be purchased separately.
- Available for Standard and Professional editions.
How to apply the license file and upgrade the edition
- Log in to the ADSelfService Plus admin portal.
- Click License in the top-right corner of the portal.
- In the License Details pop-up, click Browse and select your License.xml file.
- Click Upgrade to switch from the Evaluation or Free edition to the Standard or Professional edition.
