How to remotely perform System Management activites?

As networks grow, IT departments need to efficiently manage remote computers. Remote Access Plus, enables administrators to perform various system management tasks silently with no user interactions. You can monitor the processes, services, software, users and other details about the systems you manage.

To start performing system management activities, search the relevant computer on the home screen and choose the System Manager option.

With System Manager, you can perform the following operations,

Activity Description
Process Displays a list of all running processes on managed computers from where you can remotely view, manage and kill processes that are not required.
Task Scheduler View list of scheduled tasks on managed computers and run, end, disable or delete them instantly.
Services Allows to remotely perform actions to start, stop, restart the service as well as set their mode of start up as needed for best performance.
Command Prompt Lets you execute commands used to automate tasks via scripts and batch files, perform advanced administrative functions and other DOS operations on managed computers. You can also switch to view the user's command prompt by clicking Run As available in the right corner.
PowerShell Get user level and admin level access to execute commands or scripts from PowerShell of managed computers.
Terminal The Linux terminal is powerful for automation and scripting purposes. Users can create shell scripts that contain a series of commands to automate repetitive tasks or perform complex operations. These scripts can be scheduled to run at specific times or triggered by events, making it easier to manage and maintain systems efficiently. Registry Registry contains settings, options, and other values for programs and hardware installed on all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Remote Registry displays registry details of managed computers. Using Remote Registry you can;
  1. Remotely view the registry of the managed computer.
  2. View or modify all keys and values in the registry of managed computer.
  3. Make use of the Search option to identify a key/value/data.
  4. Use  Export to download registry details of a managed system for troubleshooting purposes.
File Manager Move, copy, paste or delete files/folders. Create folders, drag and drop files to remote computers and download files from client computers.
Event Viewer Displays details of events logged in the managed computer. These logs (classified as errors, information messages and warnings) help in auditing and troubleshooting.
Device Manager Displays the list of devices associated to each computer and choose to enable/disable the drivers related to the devices.
Shares Displays a list of all shared folders by the managed computer with path and description given. It allows you to view and manage the shared folders with it's sessions and open files details and also set restrictions for number of users to access.
Printer Displays the list of printers connected to the managed computer.
Groups Lets you view and manage local users and groups of the managed computer. You can also perform actions like adding a new group removing group, adding new members and removing members from group.
Software Using this, you can view and manage currently installed software of the computer. You can also uninstall a software that is not required.
Users Lets you view the list of users of the managed computers and their current status - active or disabled users.
Computer Rename Lets you remotely rename managed computers, be it workgroup or Active Directory domain based setup.

System Manager Settings

Ensure end users privacy with Remote Access Plus by restricting on who can access the following diagnostic tools: Command Prompt, File Manager and Rename Computer. To configure this Permission Settings navigate to Admin -> System Manager Settings -> Permission Settings. Choose any one of the following option based on your requirement:

  • Enable for all users: Admins and technicians will have permission to access.
  • Enable only for admin: Only admins will have permission to access.
  • Disable for all users: Admins and technicians will not have permission to access.
  • Permanently disable for all users: Admins and technicians will not be able to access permanently. To revert this settings you have to contact support. This option is not applicable for Computer Rename.
