Problem

The application did not perform its own validation of a critical loaded component and relied solely on the operating system’s built-in checks. This created a gap that a privileged attacker could potentially exploit, leading to a persistent denial-of-service condition and leaving the system unprotected.

Resolution

Updating the application to 1.0.64.12 or above. Upgrading to the latest version is strongly advised due to this vulnerability's severity. To upgrade, follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your Malware Protection Plus console, click on your current build number on the top right corner.
  2. You'll be able to find the latest build applicable to you. Download the PPM and update.
