Installing Mobile Device Manager Plus

Supported Operating Systems

Mobile Device Manager Plus server can be installed on computers running the following operating systems (both 32-bit and 64-bit):

  1. Windows XP Professional
  2. Windows Vista
  3. Windows 7
  4. Windows 8
  5. Windows 8.1
  6. Windows 2003 Server
  7. Windows 2008 Server
  8. Windows 2008 R2 Server
  9. Windows 2012 Server  
  10. Windows 2012 R2 Server
  11. Virtual Servers (VM Ware)

Pre-requisites for Installing Mobile Device Manager Plus Server

  1. Mobile Device Manager Plus has to be installed in any of the operating systems mentioned above.
  2. It is recommended to have a Static IP Address for the computer where Mobile Device Manager Plus Server is installed.
  3. You should install the product as an administrator, since the product is installed and run as an Windows Service.
  4. It is recommended to configure NAT settings to manage roaming devices.

Ports Used by Mobile Device Manager Plus Server

TCP Ports to be opened on the Mobile Device Manager Plus Server:

Note: All the ports are inbound to the Mobile Device Manager Plus Server, whereas the data flow could be in both the directions.

TCP Port to be opened on the WiFi from which the mobile device connects to the internet: (iOS devices)

TCP Ports to be opened on the WiFi from which the mobile device connects to the internet: (Android devices)

Domain Exceptions:           

Ensure that Mobile Device Manager Plus  server has permission to reach https://login.live.com & https://*.notify.windows.com           

Installing Mobile Device Manager Plus Server 

Mobile Device Manager Plus is distributed in the EXE format. Run the self-extracting EXE with an Install Shield program for installation and follow the instructions provided. The installation wizard will guide you through a series of instructions like the installation directory, web server port, etc. You can either install the product with the default values or can change the values as required. If you are changing the web server port (default is 9020), ensure that you open the appropriate port in the firewall.

Uninstalling Mobile Device Manager Plus Server

To uninstall Mobile Device Manager Plus, select Start --> Programs --> ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus--> Uninstall.

Or follow the below mentioned steps.

  1. Go to Control Panel--> Programs and Features.

  2. Select ManageEngine Mobile Device Manager Plus-Server.

  3. Click Uninstall. A pop up displays a warning if any devices are being managed.

  4.  Click OK to continue the uninstallation process.

The product will be successfully uninstalled from the computer.
