How to transfer admin privilege from a user who has already left the organization?

Description

The first admin who creates an account with the MDMP, will be considered as the IAM Super Admin for the organization. IAM Super admin does not possess excessive privilege than an administrator, however super admin cannot be deleted from the organization.  In case of a Super Admin leaving your organization, MDMP allows you to seamlessly change or transfer the admin privilege to another user. The following are a few possible scenarios and the steps to resolve them.

Scenario 1 - If the Old Admin's MDM or Zoho Credentials is available

  1. Login to MDM Console using the Old Super Admin's Credentials.
  2. Go to Admin > User Administration.
  3. Under Actions, Click on Transfer Ownership.
  4. Enter the e-mail address of the new user who will be given the administrator privilege and click Transfer.
  5. If the new user is already a part of the organization, the ownership will be transferred immediately and the existing administrator's rights will be revoked.
  6. If the new user is not part of the organization, they will receive an e-mail to join the organization. The existing administrator's rights will be revoked once the new administrator has joined the organization.

Scenario 2 - If the Old Admin's MDM or Zoho Credentials is not available but his mailbox is accessible

  1. On the MDM Login page, Click on the reset password option.
  2. Enter the Old Admin's Email address.
  3. Reset the password and follow the steps from Scenario 1.

Scenario 3 - If the Old Admin's mailbox is accessible but MDM or Zoho Credentials is not available and also unable to reset password

  1. Send an email from the Super Admin to mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com mentioning that the admin transfer to the New User is authorized/approved.

Scenario 4 - If none of the above is possible

  1. Send an email from any of the existing Administrators to mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com mentioning that the admin transfer to the New User is authorized/approved.

Scenario 5 - If no other administrators are available

  1. Send an email from any of the IAM Super Admin to mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com mentioning that the admin transfer to the New User is authorized/approved.
  2. If the IAM Super Admin is not known, Contact Support.

Scenario 6 - If the user left is the IAM Super Admin and the only User

  1. Send a relieving or termination confirmation from an authorized person of the organization as a soft copy to mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com. Preferably the HR department and not from the User, who has raised the request for transfer.
